Ashiyan Museum

The poet Tevfik Fikret serves as the Aşiyan Museum, where he lived between 1906-1915. It was purchased from his wife Nazime Hanım in 1940 by Istanbul Municipality and opened in 1945 as the Museum of Literature. The body, which was previously in Eyüp Cemetery, was transferred to this garden, which he liked very much in 1961 with his natural appearance, and after this date, the museum was named the "Aşiyan Museum".

Tevfik Fikret drew the projects of his house himself and put the word Aşiyan, which means "nest", as a name.

The ground floor of the Aşiyan Museum, which has a wooden 3 -storey in the garden, is used for administrative affairs. On the first floor, the Literature Room, where the photographs, books and personal belongings of the literary-i-Cedideciler are exhibited, personal belongings of Abdülhak Hamit, Abdülhak Hamit Hall, where there are personal belongings, paintings, photos, work desk and seats, Books of Nigar Hanım from our female poets, photo The poet Nigar Hanım room, where paintings, personal archives and belongings are exhibited. On the second floor reserved for Tevfik Fikret; The poet has a bedroom and study room. In the room where the poet used as a bedroom in the years he lived; Personal belongings, beds and masks taken by the poet by Mihri Hanım. In the room it uses as a study room; The desk and seat, painting works made by him, paintings. Şehzade Abdülmecit Efendi's famous "Sis" painting, inspired by Tevfik Fikret's poem "Sis" is also here.
