Erbil Castle, the historical city center of Erbil, is a castle of the Kurdistan Regional Government. It has been claimed that the area around this castle is the oldest inhabited city in the world. The castle was inscribed on the World Heritage List on June 21, 2014. Recently, the renovation work of the castle continues.
