DEDEMAN HOTELS & RESORTS INTERNATIONAL HISTORY
1918 Dedeman group was founded and Mehmet Kemal Dedeman took over his father’s Business in Kayseri Kapalıçarşı at the age of 15, right after his father passed away.
1933 The ‘construction’ business started successfully and during the 10th year celebration of the Turkish Republic, Mehmet Kemal Dedeman took on the job of building the platform where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s memorial speech took place. During the later years, Mehmet Kemal Dedeman achieved several government construction projects; he made a great contribution to the development of the young Turkish Republic.
1947 Started in the Mining sector with Chrome deposits in Kayseri, Pınarbaşı, in Toruntepe Region.
1966 First ‘steps’ in the Tourism Sector was taken and on the 6th June, the period’s most modern and comfortable Hotel, with a total of 119 rooms, was opened. Dedeman realized Turkey’s tourism potential and saw what was missing in this sector, and with its vast experience it lead the way forward in the hotel business.
1982 In July, Dedeman Istanbul was opened as one of the city’s largest hotels.
1983 In January 1983 Dedeman Mining Co. (Dedeman Madencilik Turizm Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.) was founded.
1989 Dedeman Antalya and Dedeman Cappadocia Hotels were opened.
1994 Dedeman Palandöken Hotel was opened with its 183 rooms.
1995 Dedeman Rize was opened.
1997 With the winter tourism potential in the east of Turkey, Kartaş was founded.
1997 Dedeman Park Antalya was opened with its 64 rooms.
1998 Dedeman Diyarbakır was opened.
2001 On the 22nd January; Dedeman Turizm Yatirimlari A.Ş. was formed.
2002 Dedeman Grand Chisinau was opened in Moldova with “management” agreement. In this context, the first and only hotel chain operating abroad under its own brand name, Dedeman, grows even stronger.
2003 Dedeman Silk Road Tashkent was opened in Uzbekistan.
2005 The second investment towards winter tourism was finalized in Eastern Anatolia by the opening of Dedeman Palandöken Ski Lodge.
2006 Dedeman Konya Hotel & Convention Center was opened with 206 rooms.
2007 Dedeman Şanlıurfa was opened.
2008 Dedeman Princess Sofia and Dedeman Trimontium Plovdiv hotels in Bulgaria were added to the chain.
2009 Dedeman continued to open new hotels through “management” and “lease” in order to enlarge and enrich Dedeman hotel chain. Dedeman Gaziantep Hotel & Convention Center was added to the chain together with the abroad hotels Dedeman Damascus (Damascus / Syria ), Dedeman Palmyra and Dedeman Aleppo (Aleppo / Syria ).
2011 Dedeman Zonguldak was opened on 11.11.2011
